Navigating the Social Stratosphere

Social media is a part of our lives, woven into the fabric of so many things that we do. Whether used personally, professionally, or both, many view, share, create, edit, and scroll daily on one platform or multiple. But how does one stay up to date with the ever-changing landscape of social media algorithms, features, and viral trends? How do we stay relevant?

Of course, the over-arching answer to these questions is you don’t; otherwise, the platforms would be rendered moot after some time. However, it’s in our nature and social media to evolve and keep up with the trends (or create them) to remain relevant and seen. So, as users, advertisers, businesses, people, we must evolve if we’d like to continue using these mediums effectively, especially when reaching the audience you desire.

At Trampoline, our social media team constantly discusses trends and features, tests performance, brainstorm content, and more, both for our own social media presence and our clients’. Unfortunately*, there is no one-size-fits-all solution that presents its positives and negatives. But to stay on top of these platforms for our clients, we must also be utilizing them ourselves, learning and doing in real-time to provide the best services to clients who entrust us with social media tasks.

For our clients, we can help with content creation, social media planning, copywriting and editing, digital campaigns, A/B testing, and more, including social media training. These platforms aren’t going away anytime soon and remain effective marketing tools with trackable, editable performance features.

Here are a couple of questions you can ask yourself to figure out where you belong:

Am I willing to carve out a specific budget for a new platform?

Do I have a person on staff with the bandwidth, desire, and skills to implement a campaign?

Who am I trying to reach?

How have I been communicating, and am I comfortable with change?

So in the meantime, we keep learning, creating, editing, and strategizing on our end, testing and sampling as we share our work and culture. Follow along with us on Instagram @designtramp, LinkedIn, or Facebook.

*It’s not unfortunate. We firmly believe that the purpose and thrill of social media, and any communication really, is to lead with your style and perspective. Would you want to use someone else’s ideas? Doesn’t it feel good to know that you did something true to yourself? We love figuring out who you are and which parts of you and your service or product will be the answer for people.
